Black Bear Resort setting on over 23 acres nestled in the Cherokee National Forrest provides a perfect venue for a variety of events at the beautiful convention center. Black Bear Hall is a 2000 square foot hall that has a 1600 square foot open space and a full kitchen with sinks, two refrigerators, and two stoves. Black Bear Hall is often rented separately or as an inclusive package with cabins/cottages. • Many of our guests enjoy fishing in the 1/4 mile of frontage on Laurel Creek that runs on the campgrounds. This creek is stocked every other week with Rainbow Trout which makes for some great fishing. Some of the fish are introduced right off our entrance bridge. The first stocking week is March 1st. Check the TWRA Stocking Schedule (We are Region 4, Carter County) for Laurel Fork so folks can plan their next fishing trip. If that is not enough, we are located just 8 miles from Wautaga Lake for those that prefer lake fishing. Plus were just minutes from many attractions that families enjoy spending their vacations doing. (See area attractions)

 

The Property already includes: a lodge that sleeps 12 to 20 people, 3 houses, cottages, hikers bunk house, 4 cabins that can possibly sleep 6, 3 cabins that sleep 2, Many tent sites, RV parking and hookups, A store, a 1740 square foot beautiful conference center, bath houses, an amphitheater, a stable with 9 horse stalls . This property has a path leading to the Appalachian Trail. Plus many campsites with electricity, and some more rustic.


The camp store has become the area where campers enjoy congregating and finding common thinking folks. It also serves the hikers a place to replenish their supplies.

 

The 1740 square foot beautiful conference center, where many groups take advantage of the convention center as well as the cabins to hold annual gatherings.

The amphitheater seats around 75+ people and has made a great venue for weddings, among many other venues.

 

The stable with 9 horse stalls is currently not used for horses but could be used or turned into more rustic sleeping quarters.

The property has bath houses for convenience as well as laundry facilities. The cabins are at full capacity most nights as well as many of the camp sites beginning in April and continuing through October.
